Quest: What better way to de-stress in between a week FILLED with studying??
Ans: Watch a movie!
thats exactly what i did (if only exam quest could be this good). I had to say this show was actually quite good. Takes you a little into the lifes of celebrity. Its not all glitz & glamour. Oh yea, its starring Jojo.

Entry 63 : Mission Trip to Raub, Pahang

okay, this post is going to be of less words since im kinda rushing off.

So, we went for a mission trip on the 15th Aug till the 17th. It was so much fun! Cedric was the team leader & i was the assistant. The team consists of the form 2s. Pretty fun people. =]

Left chuch at like 9pm on friday & reached where we were sopposed to sleep at like 11pm[i think]. It was like in the middle of a jungle and the enterence was pretty scary at night. haha... So anyway, we were told to sleep in their church hall. Sleeping that night was not exactly comfortable & Darren T soo wanted to slaughter the rooster that woke him up at 5am. Ps: toilets there werent THT bad, they had toilet bowls =]

After prayer & all the nessaries, we took off in the morning to a village for our first session. View from the village's church hall. Not to forget we girls had to cook ok! This is someones kitchen & house [its combined i think]. Neither me nor the girls knew how to cook at all. Neither did the villagers there cause we brought the food & they dont usually eat what we brought so yea...Me cutting vege. Chloe helped too. Haha.. my hair looks weird.Playing with the kids. Our first meal!Oh yea.. thats how most of the food was cooked.Su Wen & Petrina cooking at a different house.Frying eggs at another house.-And thats how they keep/dry their ''knifes''.. lolArt & craft time. This little boy was sitting with his mum who was beside her daughter who has another child of her own. Confused? He is sitting beside his niece/nephew that is almost his age, wait, probably older...lolSamuel's proud creation.
I have to say the children prasing & worshiping God really touched me. Its soo amazing to see that they have sooo little but they can praise God with all their heart. You could just see it in their faces. The kampung kids sending us off...The other kampung kids.. haha... the guys had to walk down the hill to the van while the girls got to ride in the pastor's jeep.Eyer... playing with mud water somemore. lol... so much for washing their slippers when the water itself is even dirtier.

Then we headed of to the second kampung. Hulu Roy (or was it Hilir..)Group pic at the church enterence!

Not to forget, inbetween this pic and the next, we saw this 6pax guy... & he gave us directions to the river. Because we ulu kids wanted to go to the river so badly lol! Then we went to check out the river & went for a reallly long walk. As long as like 1+ hour ok... seriously. I think ive never been into a river that clean before... omgThen we saw them cooking a babi hutan for us.. haha. Thats its brains.Thats how our dinner scene looked like. It was a candle-lit dinner =]Then there was the session. It was truely an eye-opener! Trust me, the worship there is like you've never seen before. They only had a drum set & 2 guitars but everyone was screaming on the top of their lungs...seriously. Let me give u a rough picture of how it was like.
Imagine: the whole hall is pitch-black exept for 3 candles giving light. Its not exactly the coolest place to be in with so many people in it at the same time. The music is playing but u can hardly hear it cause the voices are drowning it out. So many children, from the youngest to the oldest were dancing around will full enthusisasm, some teenagers were too. They just looked like they were soooo happy to be prasing God. I knew it was going to be something like that, but seeing it was a whole different thing...really.Arts & craft in candle light.
And oh yea! remember the 18 year old guy? haha...
That night we chatted till lke 1am i think. It was good to see the form 2s open up. Got to know them a little more =]. btw Su Wen moves alot at night. She pushes u off ur sleeping bag.. haha.
Then there was this saying in the morning that they heard someone give out a really long fart that night. Though the person was never known. hmm...The morning view from the church's enterance. We just had to visit the river one more time... See, the water is really clear.Chloe, Petrina & me. jump-shot =]Su Wen, petrina & meMe, Petrina & Chloe
Then we went to the third kampung. This time we had session in a house. The family there was reallly nice & friendly. I met this girl name Lina who is the same age as me. her mum was a good story teller though. We chatted the whole time while lunch was beeing prepared. She was sharing about her expericence on how she almost got sold into prostitution in KL. Thats Lina. We are peeling garlics btw.Group pic
then we headed of to our fourth kampung. It was the place we slept the first nite. Didnt get much pics here though.
The kids saying bye to us...
And oh yea... all the sleeping beauties. *winks*
